A Illinois lobbyist working for Tobacco Institute and RJ Reynolds in Chicago, and for the tobacco industry in general.

PRELIMINARY MATERIAL ONLY

Tobacco Institute and RJR Lobbyist in Illinois. There are 422 documents in the tobacco archives carring the Suffredin name, with the first in May 1984 where he is on their list of lobbyists.

1984 May: List of lobbyists registered in Illinois by the Secretary of State. At this stage he is not listing any tobacco clients.

1986 July 9: He is now being listed by the Tobacco Institute as its "Illinois - Backup Lobbyist"

1987 May: He has now registered his client list for 1987 with the Secretary of State, but there is no mention of the Tobacco Institute.

1988 Mar 24: He is working on smoking ordinance, but through the Illinois Restaurant Association.

1989–90: RJ Reynolds lobbyist list now registers him as working through Simon & Spitalli in Chicago.

1990 Sep 25: He is mentioned in a memo about an industry meeting in Chicago.

2000 Jan: He is raking in $105,000 a year just from RJ Reynolds for its lobbying work. See these astronomical fees paid by the one company to various state lobbyists.
